Written Demands, Complaints, & Investigations

Demands & Complaints for Wages: If a company owes you salaries, you can send your employer a written demand for payment of earnings by mail, email, text, or other electronic means. A written demand might be sent out to the employer at the exact same time a Labor Standards Complaint Form for unpaid earnings is filed with the Division. The Labor Standards Complaint Form can be discovered on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements webpage.

Employer Responses in Investigations: Once a total Labor Standards Complaint Form is gotten and examined, a letter explaining the nature of the complaint and employment the amounts declared to be owed is sent out to the employer. For additional information about the investigation procedure, please evaluate the Wage & Hour Claim Investigations - Employer FAQs web page.

Investigations Launched by the Division (" Direct Investigations"): The Division might conduct employer-wide direct examinations of possible offenses of Colorado wage and hour law. If you would like to send an idea, please email the Division at cdle_di_tips@state.co.us. If you would like to submit a private claim for unsettled wages, you need to submit a Labor Standards Complaint Form on our Demands, Complaints, Responses, and Settlements web page. To appeal a direct examination citation or one or more Notices of Assessment, a supposed company may submit a Direct Investigation Appeal Form.
